DGCA IMPOSED FINE ON INDIGO: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a heavy fine on IndiGo flights. In fact, IndiGo has been fined Rs 5 lakh for preventing a disabled child from boarding a plane at the airport on May 7. The DGCA has informed that the investigation conducted by it has revealed that the child was treated badly by the airline staff due to which the matter escalated.

Giving information, the DGCA has said, 'It will change its guidelines to ensure that such an incident does not happen in future. Had the matter been handled sympathetically, the matter would not have escalated so much that the passenger would have been denied boarding.

The matter came to light when Manisha Gupta, a passenger of the Ranchi-Hyderabad flight, told the public about the trouble caused to the child and his parents by the ground staff.
