Karthik, 37, was the top scorer for India, scoring his first half-century in T20 International cricket after 16 years. Karthik was a part of India's first T20 International and after that his bat did not score a half-century. He also played the first T20 International of his career against South Africa in Johannesburg itself, in which he scored an unbeaten 31 off 28 balls. But after 16 years, Karthik completed his first and fastest fifty. He scored his fifty in just 26 balls. DK played an innings of 54 runs in 27 balls with the help of 9 fours and two sixes. During this his strike rate was more than 200. Thanks to Karthik's smoky innings, India managed to collect 73 runs in the last 5 overs.

Became the oldest player to score a fifty in T20 International cricket for India

Karthik has now become the oldest player to score a fifty in T20 International cricket for India. He has scored his first T20 International fifty in 37 years and 16 days.
