IND vs WI | Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, who led India to victory in the first T20 International against West Indies, says his real goal is to do well in the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia later this year.

Karthik, doing full justice to his role of 'finisher', scored 41 runs in 19 balls in the match played at the Brian Lara Stadium as India batted first and managed to post 190 for six. His innings proved to be very important in the end.

Karthik told his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin on BCCI TV, “It is the little things that we need to pay attention to right now. The ultimate goal is to do well in the T20 World Cup. It is a completely different kind of team and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The captain and coach are laid-back and a lot of credit goes to them.

Dinesh Karthik was awarded the Man of the Match award in the first T20 match against West Indies on the basis of his smoky innings. Karthik's innings helped India beat West Indies by 68 runs.

Chasing the target of 191 runs by India, the hosts could only manage 122 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi took 2-2 wickets for India. Team India has to play the second T20 against the Windies on August 1.
