New Delhi: The Delhi government has reduced the minimum age limit for drinking alcohol from 25 to 21 years. Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced this on Monday under the New Excise Policy. Sisodia said that the drinking age in Delhi will now be 21 years instead of 25, like Noida UP. Is in Children below 21 years of age will not be allowed to enter such premises where there is alcohol. The government has decided that no new liquor shops will be opened. Since 2016, no new shops will be opened in Delhi, nor will they open new ones further. 60% are government shops, where a lot of tax evasion takes place.The Delhi government has decided that there will no longer be a government shop. Now there will be no liquor shop less than 500 square feet. The shop door will not open on the road. People do not drink alcohol while standing outside, it will be the responsibility of the shop. It will be the responsibility of the shopkeeper to maintain the atmosphere properly. Now there will be uniform liquor shops all over Delhi, which breaks the back of liquor mafia. The quality of the wine will be of international standard. Several steps have been taken to clamp down on the liquor mafia in Delhi. And a new excise policy has been created.He said that right now there are a lot of liquor shops in some areas in Delhi, while some areas do not have one or two shops at all. In the last 2 years, more than 7 lakh illegal liquor bottles were caught, 1939 arrests were made. 850 liquor shops are authorized in Delhi but about 2000 illegal shops run liquor mafia. Government will get 20% more revenue from this improvement in this sector. The revenue of 1500-2000 crores may increase in a year.
