Bengaluru: The Election Commission has decided to bring a letter to bring new voter cards across the country. It originated in Karnataka. On Sunday, Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Sanjeev Kumar gave this information. He said - The new voter card will have a color picture of the voter. Attempts have been made to make it attractive and secure with existing voter cards. This decision has been taken to provide uniform voter cards across the country.

Sanjeev Kumar said, "The new voter cards will be made out of plastic. These cards with multiple layers will have a hologram of commission. Each card will have a bar code. Voters will be allocated different bar codes. The commission is also planning to link bar codes to voter list information. In future, voters' name, address, date of birth and other information can be obtained with the help of bar code reader. ''

It will take at least 15 days for new cards to be issued

He said, "The Election Commission has fixed the price of the new card at Rs 30, but we are trying to make it cheaper. As soon as the application for the voter card is approved, the digital signature of the Election Registration Officer will be visible on Form-6. Citizens with Black and White voter cards can also apply for a new card. It will take at least 15 days to release. It may also take a little longer, considering the case of applicants.
