Difficulties for OutsidersIt is not that easy to get a job in the showbiz industry and then stay here. Especially when there is no connection with the industry even far and wide. Talking to E-Times, Esha Gupta says, 'There was a time when I used to think that I wish I was from the industry. I know then I don't face all this. When you are from the industry, even if you give flops, it will not be a big deal because you will still have another film. I remember when my first film flopped, I was very scared. I started blaming myself for my choices. I thought now it is over and I will not have work but then after a long time I took care of myself and kept working, earning money. That was my fault and my ex-agency's fault. We didn't read the contract properly which said whitening and brightening products. If I put cucumber on my face or eat right food everyday it will make a difference to my face glow but the brand decided to sue me as I was not ready to endorse their skin whitening products.Even today people think like this'Then I realized that we come from a country that has this problem. Some Indians have mentality where we consider white people above. Americans are fighting this. They think that those who are dark complexioned are meant to be slaves and those who are white are made by God to rule.praise abroadIsha further said, 'This problem is very old in India. We believe fair skin is better, fair girls are beautiful, blondes have their way. This is what we show in our ads as well. You apply a cream and the boy will accept you. You apply the cream and you will get your dream job but when you go abroad or Europe with your real face without makeup with your Indian skin tone people will say that you are the most beautiful.
