Turkey Coal Mine Blast: There has been news of a blast in a coal mine in northern Turkey on Friday. The blast was so severe that at least 25 people died. Dozens of miners were trapped in it after the blast. The officials informed about this. A total of 49 people are still stranded. With this, dozens of people have been injured. According to media reports, the Turkish Health Minister said that at least 25 people have died in an explosion inside a coal mine in northern Turkey. He said rescue teams were trying to bring to the surface dozens of other people trapped inside the mine.

Where did the explosion happen?

The blast happened at 6.45 pm on Friday. The blast took place at the state-run TTK Amasara Musse Mudurlugu mine in the city of Amasara in the Black Sea coastal province of Bartin. Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said preliminary investigations indicated the blast was possibly caused by flammable gases (fireamps) found in coal mines.

'110 people were present in the mine'

Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, who went to Amasara to oversee the rescue mission, said 110 people were present in the mine at the time of the blast. The minister said that most of the laborers managed to escape after the blast, but 49 people were trapped in the high-risk area. Suleiman Soylu did not give the number of people trapped inside. However, he added that some of the 49 have been evacuated safely. "We are faced with a dire situation that we truly regret, which we regret to reveal to the public," Soylu said.

President will visit today

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said 25 people had died in the blast. He did not say how many people were injured by the mine, but said eight were in critical condition. Turkey's disaster management agency AFAD said that several rescue teams have been sent to the region, including in neighboring provinces. With this, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will reach the crash site on Saturday.

The Bartin governor's office said 25 people were killed in the explosion. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca reported at least 17 injuries, of which 8 were being given better treatment.
