As soon as this news came to light, 6 vehicles of the fire brigade started dousing the fire on the spot. Passengers are being evacuated due to smoke filling at the airport. The fire broke out at the check-in counter of Kolkata airport. According to the information received, the incident of fire has come from Kolkata Airport 3C departure terminal building.

It is reported that there was chaos at the airport as soon as the fire broke out. People were scared of the smoke filling the airport. However, they were taken out safely. Kolkata airport's statement on this incident has also come to the fore. On Twitter, Kolkata Airport said that there was minor fire and smoke at 9.12 pm at check in area Portal D and it was fully extinguished by 9.40 pm. All passengers have been safely evacuated and the check in process has been suspended due to the presence of smoke in the check in area. Check in and operations will resume from 10.15 am.

No casualties

No loss of life has been reported so far due to this incident of fire. All the passengers were taken out in time. At present, entry into the airport has been banned. However, one person fell ill from the excessive smoke. He has been admitted to the hospital.
