MH: A four-storey building in Kurla in Mumbai suddenly collapsed on Monday night. Several people are reported to be trapped under the rubble. 20 to 25 people were buried in the building during the incident. Most of these people have been evacuated while some people are still trapped there. Maharashtra cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray, who reached the spot, said that it was very dilapidated and notices had been issued to the people to evacuate.

Actually, this incident is from Naik Nagar in Kurla, Mumbai. As soon as the information was received, the police and fire brigade reached the spot and the relief and rescue operation is still going on. Releasing pictures of the incident, ANI said that 20 to 25 people were reported to be trapped under the debris during the incident. The fire brigade team and police immediately reached the spot and started evacuating people from the rubble.

At present, the rescue operation is still going on and so far most of the people have been evacuated. NDRF has also been called to the spot to help in relief operations. NDRF personnel with equipment are engaged in clearing the debris and cutting down the building. Police-administration officials are keeping an eye on the rescue work.

On the other hand, Maharashtra cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray, who reached the spot after the incident, told that this four-storey building was very dilapidated. Notices were issued to the people living in these to vacate the building. Despite this, they were living there forcibly. This was the reason that due to the collapse of the building, people got buried under it.

He also said that when the BMC had issued a notice to this building, it should have been vacated voluntarily. Had this been done, people would not have been harmed in the event of an accident. We will find out such dilapidated buildings and initiate action on them, so that no one is harmed in future.
