Disaster Alert: Nowadays it has become common for the society to face emergency situations. In such situations, most people need immediate information. Keeping this in mind, the Government of India has taken a very important decision. The government has issued rules named "Indian Wireless Telegraphy (Cell Broadcasting Service for Disaster Alerts) Rules, 2023" to promote the Disaster Alert System for India.Under these rules, the government has encouraged phone users to give alerts related to emergencies occurring in the country. As per the norms, every phone will now have support for disaster alerts. This means that whenever there is an emergency, a smartphone or a feature phone can alert the entire community with a single message. This rule has come into force from today. Let's know what the rule saysWhat does the rule say?Broadcast message receiving in Hindi and English is mandatory on every phone.- Whether it is a smartphone or a feature phone, the message should be visible on it- Light, Sound and Vibration are mandatory for 30 seconds for such messages.Alert message should remain in the phone for at least 24 hours.- This message will remain on the screen until the consumer accepts it after seeing it.- Separate category for broadcast in the feature list of the phone- Alert messages will also be played as audio messages
