The Motivation Behind the Move

According to a report by PTI, Hardik Pandya, who hails from Vadodara, Gujarat, has lived and trained in Mumbai for several years, while however, his recent struggles with injuries, which led to his exclusion from the England tour, have prompted him to rethink his training environment. The star all-rounder has decided to make Bengaluru his new home until the end of his international career. The primary reason for this relocation is the proximity to the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE), where he has been working hard to regain full fitness.

Utilizing the Center of Excellence

Hardik Pandya is a centrally contracted player with the BCCI, which grants him full access to the state-of-the-art facilities available at the Center of Excellence. By moving to Bengaluru, he intends to fully work with the CoE's comprehensive training infrastructure, which includes specialized fitness programs, rehabilitation services, medical support, and advanced cricket practice facilities. The report suggests that Hardik aspires to represent Team India for at least another 5 to 6 years. To achieve this goal, he has designated the CoE as his permanent training base, ensuring he's always under the watchful eyes of BCCI experts.

Sources indicate that Hardik had been considering a move out of Mumbai for some time because commuting from his residence to high-quality training facilities was becoming increasingly difficult. To streamline his daily routine, he has rented a property on the outskirts of Bengaluru, very close to the CoE. This proximity will allow him to dedicate maximum time to his training sessions and make it easier to participate in frequent fitness tests or other BCCI-organized training camps without the hassle of long-distance travel.

Hardik Pandya has become the first Indian cricketer to officially make the Center of Excellence his permanent training base. Typically, contracted or other Indian players visit the CoE only when they're recovering from an injury, require rehabilitation, or are called for a fitness test or training camp before a major series.
