Road Accident / Horrific accident in Doda, death toll in bus accident reaches 38 - President and PM expressed grief

Road Accident: A bus accident took place this morning in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. So far 38 people have died in this bus accident. Meanwhile, 19 other people are injured. According to the information, this bus was going from Kishtwar to Jammu. Police and administration are engaged in rescue operation to save people on the spot. PM Modi and President Draupadi Murmu have expressed grief over this accident. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, a bus met with an accident at Trungal Assar on NHW-244 around 11:50 am, resulting in the death of 38 people and injuries to 19 others.

This bus was going from Kishtwar to Jammu. Rescue operations are underway and personnel and machinery have been deployed to shift the injured for medical treatment. Let us tell you that the death toll in this accident has reached 38. According to Ashutosh Gupta, Principal GMC Jammu, four people were airlifted, out of which 2 died and the other two are undergoing treatment.

PM announced compensation

PM Modi has expressed grief over this bus accident. He said that the bus accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir is sad. My condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this accident. I pray that the injured get well soon. The PM further said that the families of each deceased will be given Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF and the injured will be given Rs 50,000.

The President also expressed grief

President Draupadi Murmu tweeted on Doda bus accident. In the tweet, the President wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the news of the unfortunate death of several passengers in a bus accident in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. I express my condolences to the bereaved family members. Express my condolences and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured."

"Fell into a 300 feet deep ditch."

On Doda bus accident, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, 'This accident is absolutely shocking. The bus was going to Jammu. The bus has fallen into a gorge about 300 feet deep. Immediately all of us contacted the administration and Deputy Collector there. In the accident, 36 people died on the spot, 19 were found injured, out of which 6 were seriously injured. Some of them have been sent to Government Medical College, Doda and Government Medical College, Jammu. Helicopter services are also available. Relief is being provided to everyone. We all join the families of the deceased in this grief."
