Cricket Desk: With his dismissal for 4 on Saturday, India captain Virat Kohli finished the year 2020 without an international hundred, a first since his debut year in international cricket. This sees Kohli end with the highest individual score of 89 this calendar year.

Virat Kohli, who looked set for what could have been his first century of the year 2020 in first innings, got run-out on 74 due to a terrible mix-up between him and Ajinkya Rahane.

However, it must be noted that Kohli was a part of only 9 ODI matches, 3 Test and 10 T20Is this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Before this Australia tour, the last Test that India had played came in February during their tour of New Zealand.

Kohli will fly back to India after the conclusion of the first Test match between India and Australia, in Adelaide. After the Pink Ball Test, the two teams will play three more Tests and India will be without their captain.

2020 hasn't been a good year for Virat Kohli as India captain as the Asian giants have lost 5 back-to-back ODIs - 3 in New Zealand and 2 in Australia. He might become the first India captain since Sunil Gavaskar in 1981 to lose more than 5 ODIs on the trot.

India slumped to their lowest innings score in 88 years of test cricket when they were dismissed for 36 in the opening session of the third day of the day-night first test against Australia at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

The tourists resumed on 9-1 and added only 27 runs before Mohammed Shami retired hurt to end their second innings, leaving Australia requiring only 90 to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.
