A close aide of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and 2002 batch IAS officer Pooja Singhal is in a lot of discussion these days. On Friday, the ED team seized cash worth Rs 19.31 crore from their different locations. This action is related to the MNREGA deficit of Khunti. The ED had raided more than 18 locations linked to him. Let us know what the ED planned for raiding the house and other places, including the house of Secretary, Mining and Geology Department, and how the entire action was carried out.

ED had reached late at night

The Enforcement Directorate team had reached Ranchi on Thursday night itself. Late night the team stayed at the ED office on Airport Road and from here the complete blueprint of the raid was prepared. On Friday morning, the ED team reached the Pulse Hospital of Pooja Singhal's husband Abhishek Jha. Apart from this, they also reached their other places in Ranchi.

Information not given to Ranchi Police

According to the information, the ED team did not even let the Ranchi Police know about this action. The ED relied on the CISF and CRPF to assist in the investigation and took them along. While ED officials reached the respective places in school buses, cars and other vehicles, the Pulse Hospital was surrounded by CRPF officials. Apart from this, the officials also reached the residence of Pooja Singhal. This action was done in many places at the same time.

Two cases are under investigation

The ED is also probing Singhal's involvement in irregularities in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme Act (MNREGA) in Khunti and Chhatra districts. Pooja Singhal is a 2000 batch IAS officer. She was earlier posted as Deputy Commissioner in Khunti district. Along with this, the ED is also investigating on the basis of complaint against Singhal, alleging that she is voluntarily awarding contracts for sand mining to contractors of her choice. Jharkhand High Court advocate Rajiv Kumar had filed this complaint with the ED in February 2022.
