Gadgets | 5G services have been officially launched in India and Bharti Airtel users have started getting their benefits in 8 cities of the country. Many users have started getting 5G signals in their smartphones and 5G is seen written on the top of the screen.

If you live in select cities where 5G services have started, then a new sign will appear on your 5G smartphone as well. However, this requires your smartphone to have supported 5G bands and 4G phones cannot have 5G internet or network access.

Airtel is offering 5G service in these cities

The eight cities where Airtel users have started getting 5G services from today include Delhi, Varanasi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Siliguri, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. If you are an Airtel user living in these cities and you have a 5G phone, then you can change the network settings immediately.

Change network settings of 5G smartphone

If you live in any of the cities mentioned above, then go to the settings of your 5G smartphone and follow the steps mentioned below,

1. In Settings, you have to tap on 'Mobile Networks' or 'SIM Cards & Mobile Networks' option.

2. Now after going to 'Network Mode' or 'Preferred Network Type', you have to choose 5G network type.

3. After selecting the 5G (Auto) option in 5G devices, the device will search for 5G signals and 5G will appear on the screen when this network is available.

Will services be available after 5G appears?

Seeing 5G on the screen of the phone means that you have started getting 5G signals and you are in an area where 5G services are available. However, high-speed internet and other services will have to wait and get recharged from the company's 5G plans.

At the same time, if 5G has been rolled out in your city but you are not getting 5G signals like this, then you will have to wait a bit. Apart from this, you can also update the software of the device to the latest version.
