The Indian Air Force has once again demonstrated its extraordinary strike capability by executing precise air strikes against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. In this context, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh has issued a clear and stern warning to the nation and adversaries alike, stating unequivocally that no target is beyond the reach of the Indian Air Force. The Air Force Chief's remarks come at a time when the country continues to touch new heights on the back of its growing military might and indigenous defense production capabilities.
Speaking during an interview on Sunday, October twenty-fifth, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh explicitly warned Pakistan that the precise strikes conducted by the Indian Air Force across a width of twelve hundred kilometers and a depth of two hundred kilometers on the western front have thoroughly established that no target remains outside the operational reach of the IAF. During the detailed interaction, the Air Force Chief underscored that this landmark operation has once again reaffirmed the critical role of air power as the country primary responder and a strategic deterrent.
Elaborating further during his address, the Air Chief Marshal explained how the precise strikes conducted across a twelve hundred kilometer width and two hundred kilometer depth on the western front proved that no target is out of the IAF reach. He noted that Operation Sindoor served as a validation of the Indian Air Force capability-centric approach. Highlighting the performance of domestically manufactured weapons, the Air Staff Chief, who oversaw the four-day operation, stated that the performance of home-grown weapons was given paramount importance throughout the mission. Singh stated that Operation Sindoor has once again reaffirmed the vital role of air power as the primary responder and strategic deterrent of the nation, adding that several indigenously manufactured weapons performed exceptionally well and delivered a crushing blow to the adversary.
He further elaborated that a capability-centric force inherently performs much better because it can benefit from multiple tools instead of relying on a single platform. This remarkable flexibility helped us calibrate our responses and maintain strict control over escalation, while initiated in response to the dastardly Pahalgam terrorist attack in May of last year, Operation Sindoor involved precise strikes by the Indian Armed Forces on terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied territories. This marked India's largest cross-border military action since the nineteen seventy-one Bangladesh Liberation War, dealing a severe blow to cross-border terrorism.
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh stated that Operation Sindoor has conclusively proven that the path we've chosen is entirely correct. We will continue to pursue this path with even greater resolve and conviction so that if the nation calls upon us again, the IAF can respond faster, with absolute precision, and with greater might on the nation's own terms. He also revealed that certain indigenously developed weapon systems performed exceptionally well, penetrating deep into enemy territory and causing massive devastation. On top of that, throughout the operation, the Indian Air Force meticulously upheld its commitment to zero collateral damage, ensuring no harm came to innocent civilians or civilian property, while he emphasized that Operation Sindoor is, above all, a validation of the capability-centric strategy that the IAF has been adopting. Moving beyond thinking in terms of isolated platforms, the force now thinks in terms of capability, where every aircraft, sensor, weapon, and network is integrated in a manner that their combined impact is far more potent than the sum of their individual parts.
He noted that this operation tested our strategic vision under actual combat conditions, and it proved to be an absolute success. It reaffirmed the decisive role of air power as the primary responder and strategic deterrent of the nation, while further strengthening the continuous importance of speed, precision, integration, and adaptability, while the IAF Chief further stated that India self-developed network-centric air defense system successfully neutralized a large number of drones and stand-off weapons deployed by the Pakistani military, enabling the nation to execute its operations with utmost confidence. He remarked that offensive and defensive capabilities reinforced each other, which is precisely the objective of a capability-centric force.
Air Chief Marshal Singh also highlighted that Operation Sindoor proved the immense significance of joint and multi-domain operations. He explained that synchronizing the air, land, maritime, space, cyber, and electromagnetic domains enabled quicker decision-making and yielded a far more effective operational impact. However, the IAF Chief cautioned that the Air Force must now focus on further strengthening its overall combat capability, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, electronic warfare, counter-UAS capabilities, strong networking, and AI-enabled decision support systems. On top of that, the force must develop the capability to sustain intense, long-duration combat operations through solid logistics, maintenance, infrastructure, and above all, indigenous production. He informed that work on all these crucial fronts is already well underway.
