Illegal slaughter house was running in the Qureshiyan locality of the old town in Baghpat. On Thursday, the CO, along with the Kotwali police and PAC, raided the skins of about 500 animals and 80 animals were recovered. Seeing the police tried to nab the fleeing accused, bricks were also thrown from the roofs. The police have arrested more than ten people. The police action was going on till late night.

In the old town of Baghpat, the SP was getting complaints of illegal cattle slaughter continuously. Two months ago, a lot of animals were caught by the Kotwali police after conducting raids. Despite this, now illegal cattle slaughter had started again. Its information reached SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun. On his instructions, CO Anuj Mishra along with Kotwali police and PAC raided the Qureshiyan locality on Thursday evening. The police were also shocked to see the situation on the spot. Illegal slaughter house was being run in the circles of Haji Ismail and Haji Inam. From both the places, the police recovered more than 500 skins of buffaloes, which were cut and supplied to the meat. The skins were being filled in vehicles. Apart from this, preparations were being made to slaughter about 80 animals. Seeing the police, the people who had been slaughtering started running away. The police chased them and caught more than ten. Some people also threw bricks at the police. The police have registered a case against Haji Ismail and Haji Inam and others and the police is engaged to nab them.

Took samples to test skins and meats

CVO Dr. Ramesh Chandra from Animal Husbandry Department and doctor reached the spot. Samples were taken for examination of skins and pieces of meat, so that it could be ascertained that the cattle were not being slaughtered. The police had also received information that cow slaughter is also done at night.

Police alleging complicity, SP started investigation

Questions are also being raised on the functioning of the police in this whole case. Despite the strictness of the police, how was illegal animal slaughter happening on such a large scale. There have also been allegations of complicity on the police regarding this. Many policemen of Kotwali are also being accused of being informers for cattle smugglers and illegal cattle slaughterers. The SP himself has also taken it seriously and an inquiry has been set up in this matter. Apart from this, people told the police that a person named Zahid is also involved in this whole game.

Children were made support, when policemen went and threw bricks

When the police raided, the illegal cattle slaughterers themselves fled. The police chased and sent the children in front of them, who started taking the animals. When police personnel chased them, bricks were thrown from the roof.
