Lok Sabha Elections: Before the Lok Sabha elections, churning is going on in INDI Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.) on seat sharing, but from Delhi to Maharashtra, there is still no consensus within the alliance on seats. On one hand, small parties are demanding more seats from Congress, while on the other hand, Congress seems to be in no mood to give seats from its own account. Today a coalition meeting is going to be held on the issue of seats in Maharashtra. At the same time, in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav is going to brainstorm with his leaders on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress stuck in political crisis, big demand from small parties

Before the Lok Sabha elections, there is a problem regarding seat sharing in the INDI alliance of 28 parties. While Congress is trying to show itself big in the alliance, the fellow parties are increasing the problems of Congress with their demands. After discussions with the parties of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav, now Congress is going to play power game with Uddhav group and Sharad Pawar's party, and under this, a big meeting is going to be held regarding the seats of Maharashtra. Earlier, there had been tussle over seats with Aam Aadmi Party also.

These leaders from all three parties will participate in the big meeting

Leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress and NCP (Sharad) will attend today's meeting regarding seat distribution. While Sanjay Raut and Vinayak Raut will be present in this meeting from Shiv Sena side, Supriya Sule from NCP (Sharad) will attend. Ashok Chavan, Nana Patole and Prithviraj Chavan can attend the meeting from the Congress side. While on one hand seat sharing is to be discussed in this meeting, on the other hand Shiv Sena (UBT) has expressed its demand even before the meeting.

Uddhav group put forward demand before the meeting, 23 seats should be given.

Shiv Sena (UBT) has already presented the same formula before the meeting which it had with BJP in 2019. Uddhav faction has demanded 23 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. The party claims that it had a close fight on these seats. The party says that other alliance partners should also look at the winability factor in a state like Maharashtra. Shiv Sena (UBT) gave a big statement saying that Shiv Sena is a cadre based party and not an umbrella party like Congress. The Uddhav faction claims that it will bring the same results in 2024 as it did in 2014 and 2019.

NCP (Sharad) also did not open its cards, can make this demand

On one hand, Shiv Sena has openly demanded 23 seats for itself, while on the other hand, Sharad Pawar faction of Nationalist Congress Party has not revealed its cards yet. Sharad Pawar is constantly discussing seat distribution with leaders close to him within the party. If sources are to be believed, Sharad Pawar's party can also demand a seat as per the 2019 formula. After today's meeting, the final meeting of Mahavikas Aghadi can be held in Delhi on 14th and 15th January, but convincing allies on the seats is a big challenge for Congress.
