As agreed during the 16th round of Corps Commander-level talks that began in July, the move is being done to establish a peaceful environment.

According to the Defense Ministry, “As per the consensus reached in the 16th round of the India China Corps Commander level meeting today, Indian and Chinese troops have started a planned retreat in the area of ​​Gogra-Hotsprings (PP-15). , which is conducive to peace and will also maintain peace in the border areas.”

The statement came days ahead of the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Uzbekistan next week.
