New Delhi: The central government has extended the date for submission of income tax returns on Thursday. The deadline for submitting personal income tax returns has been increased by two months to 30 September 2021. The government has taken this decision because of the Corona epidemic. Earlier, the last date for filing income tax was 31 July.

Deadline extended for companies as well

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has also extended the deadline for companies to file ITRs. This has been extended to 30 November. The CBDT said in a circular that the limit has been extended to select tax companies to provide some relief to the income tax payer.

According to the Incoming Tax Act, people whose accounts are not required to be audited and who generally submit income tax through ITR Form-1 and ITR Form-4, have a deadline of 31 July. At the same time, the deadline of companies and firms whose accounts are audited is 31 October.
