Earlier, in the second innings of the second match, he played a powerful innings of 136 runs.

Jamie Overton, playing his debut match, has also scored a half-century in 68 balls. He has supported Bairstow in difficult times. He is also close to a century. England lost the sixth wicket at 55, after which Bairstow and Overton made a strong partnership to take the team's score beyond 250.
