The resignation of Karnataka Minister B. Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, R. Ashoka, addressed journalists in New Delhi on Friday, stating that Nagendra's resignation is the first major blow to the Congress government. He emphasized that the resignation is a direct result of the persistent struggle by BJP workers and leaders. Ashoka noted that the government has not even completed 3 months in power, and within just 25 or 26 days of Nagendra becoming a minister, a wicket has already fallen. Ashoka clarified that the BJP's movement wasn't merely targeted at Nagendra as an individual but was a fight against the alleged looting of 187 crore rupees intended for the welfare of the Dalit community. He claimed that the party conducted day and night protests, raised slogans in the assembly, and maintained constant pressure on the government. According to Ashoka, the government even shortened the assembly session due to this pressure. He reiterated the party's stance that they wouldn't have backed down until the resignation was secured. Now that the resignation letter has been submitted, the BJP views this as a complete victory for their movement.

The BJP plans to continue its agitation regarding issues affecting the public, farmers, and the poor. During his visit to Delhi, Ashoka met with the BJP National President to discuss the developments in Karnataka, while he reported that the national leadership has encouraged more struggles and movements to hold the state government accountable. The party maintains that its fight is far from over and will persist until the allegedly missing funds are returned.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Vijayendra described Nagendra as a small player and alleged that there are big sharks involved in the scam. The primary demand of the BJP remains the recovery of the 187 crore rupees and its return to the Valmiki Development Corporation. Vijayendra emphasized that this money was specifically allocated for the development of exploited and deprived communities and must be recovered at all costs, while he made it clear that the party's objective isn't just the resignation of a minister but the exposure of the entire conspiracy and the identification of all high-profile individuals involved.
