Priyank Kharge: The uproar over the statement made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, minister in the Tamil Nadu government to Sanatan Dharma, has not ended yet. Different reactions are coming on this statement, meanwhile Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's son and Karnataka government minister Priyanka Kharge has also joined Udayanidhi's voice. Priyank Kharge says that the religion which does not believe in equality is not a religion but a disease.

When Priyanka Kharge was questioned on Udhayanidhi Stalin's statement, he said that any religion which does not advance equality or does not take care of the dignity of being a human being, is not a religion according to me. Whatever religion does not give you equality and does not believe in human beings, it is like a disease.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi had given a statement on Sanatan Dharma on the previous day itself. He had said that the end of Sanatan Dharma is necessary, it is like a disease like dengue, malaria and corona, which has no cure, it can only be eradicated. Even after there was a ruckus on Udhayanidhi's statement, he did not back down from it.

Many reactions came from different parties

On the one hand, the BJP has attacked the India alliance on the pretext of this statement, while the opposition has defended it. On behalf of the BJP, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad held a press conference and appealed for Udhayanidhi's apology. Along with this, he had also asked Rahul Gandhi to break his silence on this issue.

Congress has said on this issue that we have always talked about equality of all religions, our stand is completely clear. However, other opposition parties have supported Udhayanidhi on this issue and targeted BJP only.
