India-Bhutan Relation: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a two-day visit to Bhutan. He visited Bhutan on 22 and 23 March. During this, Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk hosted PM Modi at Lingkana Palace. He had organized a private dinner for PM Modi. The king's entire family was present for the dinner, including his children. Children were seen having fun with PM Modi. PM Modi concluded a meaningful two-day state visit to Bhutan on Saturday. During this, he assured Thimphu of India's full cooperation in development works and pledged to provide assistance worth Rs 10,000 crore in the next five years."I am honored to have His Majesty the King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck coming to the airport to see me off as I depart for Delhi," PM Modi said in a post on X. He said, “It was a very special trip to Bhutan. I had the opportunity to meet the King of Bhutan, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and other dignitaries of Bhutan. Our talks will further strengthen India-Bhutan friendship. I am grateful for honoring me with the ‘Order of the Druk Gyalpo’. I am grateful to the wonderful people of Bhutan for their warmth and hospitality. India will always be a trusted friend and partner for Bhutan.”At the same time, the Prime Minister of Bhutan posted on 'X', "Many thanks to my brother, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for visiting us. Neither his busy schedule, nor the bad weather could stop him from fulfilling his promise to visit our country. This certainly seems to be Modi's guarantee! Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi was honored with Bhutan's highest civilian honor 'Order of the Druk Gyalpo' on Friday. He is the first head of government of any other country to receive this honour.
