With this, the first world title was added to Messi's name. He scored 2 goals in the match. Kylian Embappé scored all three goals for France.


Shootout decision for the third time

This happened for the third time in history that the final of the FIFA World Cup was decided by a penalty shootout. In the year 1994 Brazil vs Italy and in 2006 Italy vs France, the winner was met by shootout. Argentina lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy for the third time. He has earlier won this glittering trophy in 1978 and 1986. Messi won many matches, played a key role in many, won club trophies but this was his first title at the global level.


Argentina dominated the first half

Argentina showed its aggressive attitude in the opening minutes itself. Legendary Lionel Messi gave his team the lead in the 23rd minute when he scored the team's first goal from the penalty spot. As soon as this goal was scored, the fans of Argentina and Messi present in the field started cheering. After 13 minutes, Angel Di Maria scored the second goal of the team. By half time the score was 2-0 in favor of Argentina.


Embappe made a comeback

In the second half, France tried something but could not get success. Then Killian Mbappe got his team back on penalty in the 80th minute. Embappé again scored his and the team's second goal in the very next minute. After this goal, it was as if the supporters of France started dancing. Manager Didier Deschamps himself was seen aggressively pressing his fist. After this there was no goal and the score was tied at 2-2 till the scheduled time.


Messi's blast in extra time

In the match again extra time was taken for the result. Superstar footballer Lionel Messi did his magic and scored a goal in the 109th minute. This was his second goal of the match. He scored but video replays were seen for this. Actually, the French player saved the shot but he was standing inside the goal. Embappé then scored France's third goal on penalty in the 118th minute.
