Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has announced to extend the lockdown in the state till June 14. This decision was taken on Thursday to prevent corona infection. Recently, the government had announced the imposition of restrictions from May 24 to June 7. In the last 24 hours, 16387 new cases of corona have been reported in the state. So far, more than 30 thousand people have lost their lives due to this virus.

What did CM Yediyurappa say

Yediyurappa said in a press conference that to prevent the spread of corona virus, we had earlier announced strict restrictions from May 24 to June 7. Although the infection has subsided, the spread of the disease still continues. Based on the recommendation of experts, it has been decided to extend the restrictions till June 14. "We are hopeful that the situation will improve after a week," he said.

More than 21 thousand people recovered on Wednesday

On Wednesday, 16387 new cases of corona were reported in Karnataka and 463 people died. It has been a matter of relief that 21999 people recovered from Corona on the last day. At present, the number of active cases of corona in the state is 2.93 lakh. According to the state health department, till June 2, more than 26 lakh people have been infected in the state. The rate of corona infection in the state is 11.22 percent.
