Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs in the second match played on Sunday in IPL 2022. With this result, Rajasthan's chances of reaching the play-offs have become very strong. He has 16 points from 13 matches. Lucknow also have 16 points from 13 matches. Due to better run rate, RR has now reached number-2 in the points table.


Batting first after winning the toss, Rajasthan scored 178 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the highest 41 runs. In reply, Lucknow team could score only 154 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Deepak Hooda scored the highest 59 runs. Trent Boult, Prashant Krishna and Obed McCoy took two wickets each. Bolt also showed his hand in batting, scoring 17 runs in 9 balls.


Fifty-century partnership between Jaiswal and Sanju

Rajasthan had a very poor start and star batsman Jos Buttler was bowled by Avesh Khan after scoring 2 runs off 6 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson then put on a half-century partnership for the second wicket. Both of them added 64 runs. The pair, which was becoming dangerous for LSG, was separated by Jason Holder. He got Samson caught by Deepak Hooda. Samson faced 24 balls in his innings and scored 32 runs with the help of 6 fours.


Jaiswal was dismissed after scoring 41 runs due to a miss hit by Ayush Badoni. He hit 6 fours and 1 six in his innings of 29 balls. Jaiswal added 26 runs in the third wicket partnership with Padikkal.


Ashwin and Boult cross 170

The lower middle order batsmen played short but useful innings to take the team past 170 runs. Ryan Parag scored 19 and Jimmy Neesham scored 14 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin (10) and Trent Boult added 26 runs in the seventh wicket partnership to take the team to 178 runs. Boult scored 17 runs in 9 balls. Ashwin scored 10 runs in 7 balls.
