Odisha / Maoists dragged and killed a 45-year-old man outside his house in the Rayagada district

Maoists shot dead a 45-year-old guy in Odisha’s Left-wing insurgency-hit Rayagada district after branding him a police informer past due on Tuesday. Police stated a set of 10 suspected Maoists referred to as Santosh Dandasena out of from his home and killed him. “His bullet-riddled body was discovered on Wednesday morning 50 metres outdoor his home,” stated Nilambar Jani, a nearby police officer.


Police stated the Maoists left in the back of posters caution humans against running as informers. “(Dandasena) turned into warned numerous instances in opposition to giving any statistics to the police, however, he disobeyed the order and advocated a few youths of the village to end up police informers. If those youths do now no longer apologise, they'll face comparable consequences,” the poster warned.


Dandasena’s killing is the first such example in Odisha due to the fact that in January while Maoists in Kandhamal killed civilians for being alleged police informers. It came 3 weeks after Central Reserve Police Force busted a Maoist hideout at Niyamgiri in neighbouring Kalahandi district and seized a cache of explosives, arms, and ammunition.
