New Delhi : The ongoing controversy in Karnataka regarding the hijab has spread across the country. The opposition is constantly attacking the BJP over this controversy. Meanwhile, PDP chief Mehbooba Mafti also targeted the BJP fiercely. Mehbooba Mufti said that I am afraid that BJP will not stop only on Hijab. Those Muslims want to destroy all the signs. Mehbooba did not stop here. He said that it is not enough for Indian Muslims to be Indian only, they also need to be BJP.

According to news agency ANI, Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar on Sunday said that Jammu and Kashmir is a political matter but they (BJP) want to make it a community affair. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is a political issue. With the abrogation of Article 370, this issue has not been resolved but has become more complicated.

He said that the central government will have to talk to Pakistan about it if not today or tomorrow. It is true that the more trouble and blood is shed in Jammu and Kashmir, the more BJP benefits.

At the same time, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah said about the Hijab controversy that the country is equal for everyone, you have the right to wear what you want to wear, what to eat and how you want to live, everyone has their own religion, which religion is being attacked. Yes, these are some fundamentalists who want them to win the election by doing this.

Schools will open in Karnataka from Monday

Meanwhile, the Udupi district administration of Karnataka has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure from Monday till February 19 in the vicinity of all high schools in the district. The move is being seen as a precautionary measure with schools reopening from Monday. The state government had declared a holiday in schools in the wake of the hijab-saffron shawl controversy. This order will remain in force from 6 am on February 14 to 6 pm on February 19.

The District Superintendent of Police had requested Deputy Commissioner M Kurma Rao to impose Section 144 within a radius of 200 meters around the high schools. According to the order, the gathering of five or more people will be prohibited within this radius of the schools. There will be a ban on demonstrations and rallies. There will be a strict ban on raising slogans, singing songs or giving speeches.

Bommai exudes confidence that peace will be restored once high schools reopen

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday exuded confidence that peace and normalcy would be restored, a day before the reopening of high schools up to class 10 across the state. These schools were closed due to the ongoing controversy over the hijab in the state. Bommai said a decision regarding reopening of pre-university and degree colleges would be taken after assessing the situation.
