Ranchi. Jharkhand's Mining and Industries Secretary Pooja Singhal, who is facing serious charges of MNREGA scam, disproportionate assets and corruption, has been arrested by the ED. However, earlier the ED had directed Pooja Singhal not to leave Ranchi under any circumstances.

Let us inform that the ED team has arrested Pooja Singhal on Tuesday after a long interrogation for 9 hours and today on Wednesday for 7 hours. After 9 hours of interrogation on Tuesday, ED officials had also directed him not to leave Ranchi without permission. On the other hand, the ED team had once again called Pooja Singhal and her husband Abhishek Jha to the ED office in Ranchi for questioning. After this interrogation, Pooja Singhal has been arrested.

After being arrested today, the ED has got Pooja Singhal's medical examination done. For this a team of doctors came to the ED's office. He has declared Pooja Singhal completely fit after examining her. The arrested Pooja Singhal will be taken by the ED from its office to the court. ED sources say that police remand will be sought for Pooja Singhal.

Sources also said that ED's advocate BMP Singh has left for the ED court. It is necessary for the advocate to be in the court to get the paperwork done. After getting her signed in the courtroom, Pooja Singhal will be taken to the judge's residence.

On Tuesday, Pooja Singhal and her husband Abhishek Jha were also told by the ED that they should not leave the Ranchi headquarters under any circumstances. Here, a petition has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court regarding the CBI investigation of the Pooja Singhal case and the security of the ED officers. At the same time, the Jharkhand government has also given leave to Pooja Singhal. In his place, another officer will be given the charge of Mining and Industries Department. Let us inform that the Chief Secretary had received an application for leave on behalf of Pooja Singhal, which he has given his immediate approval.
