Special / Models wrong way of cutting hair was costly to the salon now will have to pay Rs 2 crore

The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has asked a luxury hotel chain to pay compensation to a model for causing inappropriate hair cut and mental trauma. It is being told that the commission has directed to pay around Rs 2 crore. According to the woman, she has suffered a great loss due to the wrong haircut, her lifestyle has completely changed due to the haircut and her aspiration to become a top model has now been ruined. A bench of Chairman RK Agarwal and member Dr SM Kantikar ordered the hotel to pay Rs 2 crore as compensation to the woman.

The NCDRC said that "for the above discussion, the complaint is partly allowed and we are of the view that if the complainant is paid a compensation of Rs 2,00,00,000, it will serve justice".

The NCDRC said that "There is no doubt that women are very careful and careful about their hair. Women spend a significant amount of money to beautify their hair. They are emotionally attached to their hair as well. The complainant was a model of 'Hair Products' because of her long and beautiful hair. She has modeled for many brands."

NCDRC said that due to cutting hair against her (model) instructions, by opposite party No. 2 (Hotel Salon), she (lady) lost her expected job and suffered a huge loss which completely changed her lifestyle. Diya and shattered her dream of becoming a top model. She was also working as a Senior Management Professional and earning a good income. The NCDRC said that due to the negligence of the opposition party No 2 in cutting her hair, she went through mental trouble and could not do her job and eventually, she lost her job.

Rs 2 crore compensation to the model who got the wrong haircut

According to the complaint, he was to appear before an interview panel. She went to a hotel salon for a hairstyle on April 12, 2018, a week before the interview, to look neat in front of the interview panel.

The complaint states, “Since the special hair dresser was not available in the salon, a second hair dresser was asked to do her hairstyling. Though the complainant was not satisfied with her services in the past, the manager of the salon assured Diya and said that she has improved her work. Thereafter the complainant agreed to get her hair cut."

The complaint states that he asked a hairdresser to cut four inches of hair, but he did not listen, leaving only four inches of hair, he cut the long hair completely. After this he complained to the salon management about the hair dresser.

Thereafter, the complainant filed a complaint alleging negligence on the hotel side and requested a formal apology from the hotel management and compensation for harassment, humiliation and mental agony.

The hotel claims that the compensation sought by the complainant has been exaggerated and has no merit. The hotel also claims that the matter was brought to malign its reputation and goodwill.
