The announcement of giving 8.5 percent interest to employees for the financial year 2020-21 by the end of July may be announced soon. In this matter, EPFO ​​has got approval from the Ministry of Labor. This process is expected to start soon.

After getting approval from the Ministry of Labor, this can be news of relief for about 6 crore employees across the country who come under the purview of PF. For the fiscal year 2020-21, 8.5 percent interest can be given by the EPFO ​​till the end of July. According to media reports, the interest money can be credited directly to the employees' account.

Last year, many EPFO ​​account holders had to wait for 10 months to get the interest for 2019-20. The EPFO ​​had decided to keep the interest rates unchanged at 8.5 per cent for the fiscal year 2020-21. Apart from this, EPFO ​​had allowed account holders to withdraw non-refundable Kovid-19 advance money due to the second wave of corona epidemic across the country.
