Uttar Pradesh | Just before the voting in Moradabad, an audio clip of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate and sitting MLA Haji Rizwan from Kundarki assembly seat went viral, in which he is appealing to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate to win.

Angered by the ticket being cut, Rizwan, who recently joined the BSP, has appealed to defeat Ziaur Rahman, the grandson of Sambhal's SP MP Shafiqur Rahman Burke. According to a report in Times of India, the BSP leader confirmed the viral audio saying that it is true that he has appealed to vote for the BJP candidate to defeat the SP candidate.

The BSP candidate said, "I have not said anything wrong. What else should I say? We supported Dr. Burke five times, but this time it is different." Rizwan, who was in the SP for more than a decade, said, "This time the ticket was distributed by Ram Gopal Yadav. I don't know what their strategy is. My voters are with me, I thank them. The audio clip has been leaked by my opponents. I have no remorse. They (SP) stabbed me in the back. I will not let them take my seat, they will lose badly here."

In the audio clip, Rizwan is seen talking to BJP candidate Kamal Prajapati's cousin Ajay Kumar Prajapati and tells him, "If your people vote for me, let them do it, but if they want to vote for SP, then not so." Lashing out at Rizwan, the SP candidate said that his grandfather Burke won because of the people and not because of Rizwan.
