Bihar Elections 2025 / Now match fixing in Bihar! Rahul Gandhi told how it is poison for democracy

Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar at the end of the year. Congress is trying to regain lost ground, and as a part of this Rahul Gandhi is constantly touring. He accused Maharashtra of "match fixing" in the elections and said that BJP is preparing to weaken democracy in Bihar as well.

Bihar Elections 2025: Political stir has intensified regarding the assembly elections to be held in Bihar later this year. All the major political parties have started making their strategy. Congress is also trying to regain its lost ground in the state. In this episode, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is constantly visiting Bihar and attacking the BJP in public meetings.

Recently, Rahul Gandhi has once again made serious allegations regarding Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. He claimed that the elections held in Maharashtra were "match fixing" and now preparations are being made to repeat the same plan in Bihar. He says that the BJP is misusing institutions to turn the electoral process in its favor.

BJP's historic victory in Maharashtra elections, but Congress's allegations

In the assembly elections held in November 2024 in Maharashtra, BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP contested together under the Mahayuti alliance. The alliance won 235 of the 288 seats, with the BJP alone winning 132 — its best ever performance. But the Congress is not ready to accept the result.

Rahul Gandhi's 5-step 'rigging model'

Rahul Gandhi, during the press conference, accused the BJP of influencing the electoral process at "five levels". He detailed these levels:

Interference in Election Commission appointments

Inclusion of fake voters in voter lists

Artificially increasing polling percentage

Organising fake voting in targeted areas

Hiding and destroying election evidence

Rahul says the whole game is like "match fixing", where the winning side loses public confidence and damages democracy.

Eyes on Bihar too, warning statement

Rahul Gandhi said, "What happened in Maharashtra will be repeated in Bihar. The BJP is afraid of defeat, that is why efforts are being made to destroy the credibility of the elections." He appealed to the public to check the facts themselves and ask questions.

Has made allegations earlier too

This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has made allegations of rigging in elections. In April 2024, he raised the same issue in Boston, USA. Apart from this, the Congress had also lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding EVM tampering during the Haryana Assembly elections.

Will the Bihar elections be fair?

As the elections in Bihar approach, the series of political rhetoric and allegations and counter-allegations will intensify. But if there is some truth in Rahul Gandhi's allegations, then it can be a big threat to India's democratic system. In such a situation, the role of the Election Commission, transparency and public awareness will be most important.
