Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded the arrest of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for making objectionable remarks against Prophet Muhammad. He said that action should be taken against them as per the law of India. Owaisi said that BJP is protecting Nupur Sharma. He also asked the Chief Minister of Telangana to arrest him and bring him to Telangana. AIMIM chief said, "BJP is protecting Nupur Sharma. We are appealing to the PM and he does not speak a word. AIMIM has filed a complaint and an FIR has been registered. I am the CP of this state and I also want to ask CM to send Delhi Police and bring Mohtarma (Sister Nupur Sharma) here. You should bring her (Nupur Sharma) here."

'Afreen Fatima's house was broken into and...'

Hitting out at the Uttar Pradesh government over the demolition drive, he said, "Afreen Fatima's house in Allahabad was demolished, why did you demolish it? Because her father had protested. The principles of natural justice are the basic structure of the Constitution. Who decides? Will it? The court will decide whether he organized the wrong thing or not. The court will do justice and the court will not punish his wife and children."

Congress leader also demanded arrest of Nupur

Earlier, Maharashtra Congress leader Naseem Khan had also demanded immediate arrest of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal. Sharma had allegedly made objectionable remarks against Prophet Muhammad during a televised news debate on the Gyanvapi issue.
