Covid-19 Omicron: More than one thousand variants of Omicron have been found in the country. Broadly speaking, these are spread in India. BA.1, BA.2, BA.5, BQ.1, BA.4, BA 2.12.1 XBB, BA 2.75, all these are variants of Omicron. Out of 1000 variants of Omicron, 100 are Recombinant Version, which are spread at this time. At this time XBB1.5 and XBB 1.16 are the Variant Of Interest (VOI) on which scientists are eyeing. VOIs are those that spread rapidly but are not fatal.

Different variants of corona have been found in genome sequencing in India. But in the three months from January to March, the cases of all other variants are decreasing, while the cases of this variant of Corona XBB.1.16 have increased rapidly. There were 2 cases of this variant in January while 204 cases of this variant have been reported in March. A total of 344 cases have come to the notice of this variant in three months. This variant is spread in Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat and Delhi.

Apart from this, the cases of XBB.1.5 have also increased to 196 in three months. But where it had 46 cases in January, it increased to 103 in February and 47 in March. XBB.2.3 is such a variant whose cases are currently on the rise. It had 9 cases in January while there are 69 in March. However, India's condition at the global level is better than many other countries.

An average of 966 cases are being registered daily in India, while still around 1 lakh cases are happening daily at the global level. The daily average in February was 108 cases. The number of weekly deaths has increased in March. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka with the maximum number of cases are the states from where the maximum number of cases are coming. After this Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Himachal and Rajasthan are a total of 8 states from where maximum number of cases are there.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions to send all RTPCR positive samples for genome sequencing. Mock drill will be done soon. Instructions have been given for mock drill to ensure the number of medicines, doctors and beds in private and government hospitals.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released the report of the global situation of Corona today. According to this report, between February 20 and March 19, that is, within a month, the total cases of corona crossed 37 lakhs. 26 thousand people died in this month. However, according to the WHO, compared to a month between January 23 and February 19, there has been a decline of 31% in total cases and 46% in total deaths. But less testing is being done in many countries and many countries have been lax in regular reporting of Corona. From this point of view, the actual number of cases can be much higher.

XBB.1.5 variant causing havoc in the world

The most widely spread variant across the world at this time is XBB.1.5. Apart from this BQ.1,BA.2.75, CH.1.1, XBB and XBF. These are the new variants that are being monitored. XBB.1.5. In the last weeks, it has increased by 37.7% at the global level. It has been found in 85 countries including India. However, this variant is in the category of interest. According to WHO. In South East Asia, maximum number of new cases are being registered from India and Indonesia.
