IND vs WI: Team India has made a strong start in the first innings of the second Test of the series against the West Indies. By the end of the first day's play, India has scored 288 runs for four wickets. Virat Kohli, playing the 500th international match, played a half-century innings, he remained not out after scoring 87 runs. Ravindra Jadeja remained not out after scoring 36 runs with him. Captain Rohit Sharma 80, Yashasvi Jaiswal 57, Shubman Gill 10 and Ajinkya Rahane got out after scoring 8 runs. Kemar Roach, Shannon Gabriel, Jomel Warrican and Jason Holder took one wicket each from the West Indies.

This 100th Test match is being played between India and West Indies in Port of Spain. Both the teams played Test for the first time in 1948. Before the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite were gifted a momento by the legends of West Indies cricket.

Kohli scored his 30th Test half-century

Batsman Virat Kohli scored his 30th half-century in Test career. Including all three formats, this is his 132nd International Fifty. He has scored 65 fifties in ODIs and 37 in T20s.

Kohli-Jadeja's unbeaten century partnership

After losing 4 wickets on the score of 182 runs, the pair of Kohli and Jadeja brought back Team India. Both made a century partnership of 106 runs on 201 balls for the 5th wicket. Both remained not out till the end of the day's play and would lead India's innings on the second day of the Test. The second day's play will start at 7:30 pm Indian time.

Session-1: Indian openers put Fifty

The first session of the first day was named after the Indian openers. Both shared a century partnership. Rohit Sharma made his 15th career fifty. At the same time, Yashasvi Jaiswal also made a fifty. Till lunch, Team India scored 121 runs without losing wickets.

Session-2: Caribbean bowlers took 4 wickets

The second session was named after the host West Indies bowlers. In this session, Team India lost four wickets in scoring 61 runs. Jaiswal 57, Rohit Sharma 80, Gill 10 and Rahane were dismissed after scoring 8 runs. Kemar Roach, Shannon Gabriel, Jomel Warrican and Jason Holder got one wicket each.

Session-3: Kohli-Jadeja made century partnership

The third session of the day was in the name of veteran batsman Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. Both made an unbeaten century partnership of 106 runs to bring back Team India. In this session, Team India scored 106 runs without losing a wicket. Kohli and Jadeja returned unbeaten at the end of the session and day's play.

This is how India's wickets fell in the first innings

First: Yashasvi wanted to drive a wide length ball from Jason Holder, but his body was away from the line of the ball. The ball took the outside edge of the bat and went into the hands of Kirk McKenzie standing at gully position.

Second: Kemar Roach bowled a good length ball outside off stump. The ball touched the edge of Shubman Gill's bat and reached wicketkeeper Joshua da Silva.

Third: Rohit Sharma gets bowled in an attempt to stop a good length ball at middle stump. He became the first victim of Jomel Warrican.

Fourth: Shannon Gabriel bowled a short pitch outside off stump. Ajinkya Rahane went to play the shot on the backfoot, but the ball got buried and Rahane got bowled.

Yashasvi hit fifty

Yashasvi, who scored a century in the debut test, was dismissed after scoring 57 runs in 74 balls. He was caught by Jason Holder at the hands of Kirk McKenzie.

Another century partnership in Rohit-Jaiswal

The opening pair of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal shared a century partnership. Both added 139 runs on 194 balls for the first wicket. In the first match, the pair had an opening partnership of 229 runs.

Debut cap to Mukesh Kumar

There was one change in the Indian team. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar was given a chance in place of Shardul Thakur. Shardul Thakur dropped out due to not being fit. This is Mukesh's debut test against the West Indies. There was also a change in the West Indies team. Kirk McKenzie comes in place of Ramon Reifer. This is McKenzie's debut test.
