The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested another person for alleged links to an Islamic State module. The accused has been identified as Zufri Jawhar Damudi, a resident of Bhatkal in Karnataka.

Earlier this week, the agency arrested four people linked to the Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir cluster. They were identified as Obaid Hamid, a resident of Srinagar; Muzammil Hassan Bhat, an inhabitant of Bandipora; Ammar Abdul Rahman from Mangalore and Shankar Venkatesh Perumal alias Ali Muaviya, resident of Bengaluru.

The NIA accused them of their role in fundraising, radicalizing and promoting many people to join ISIS.

This mod was discovered about a year ago when intelligence agencies visited an Instagram channel called “Chronicle Foundation,” which includes more than 5,000 members from different parts of the world. They are said to have engaged in propaganda activities linked to the Islamic State.

In March, the agency arrested the leader of the module, Mohammed Ameen (Malappuram), as well as Mushab Anuvar (Kannur) and Rahees Rashid (Kollam).
