TRS, AIMIM support Sinha

Telangana's ruling TRS on Monday said it will support Yashwant Sinha, joint candidate of opposition parties in the presidential election. Party working president KT Rama Rao with his MPs was present during Yashwant Sinha's nomination. Meanwhile, the Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) announced Sinha's support. Owaisi issued a release saying that party representatives will vote in favor of Yashwant Sinha.

He said that the BJP used to get the benefit of the division of opposition parties in the elections. BJP will not get this benefit in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The opposition parties will fight the elections unitedly. Sinha will undertake a nationwide tour to garner support. He will start his tour from Kerala. He said that he would also try to reach out to his old colleagues in the BJP for support.

Soren met Amit Shah and Kharge

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday met Home Minister Amit Shah and senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge to decide the strategy for support in the presidential election. But before leaving Delhi in the evening, he did not reveal his strategy as to whom he would vote for. Shah urged Soren to extend support to NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Shiv Sena in breath

In the first Rajya Sabha and then the Legislative Council elections, the BJP gave a big blow to the Shiv Sena. Maharashtra won more than one seat each in both the Rajya Sabha and the Legislative Council. Shiv Sena is finding it difficult to save its party.
