A woman living in America had an emergency C-section delivery, but she never thought that due to this delivery, her baby's face would get spoiled. The girl had a deep injury on her left cheek and 13 stitches were needed to sew up the wound. This woman named Riejana Williams was admitted to Denver Health Care with her husband in the city of Colorado. These couples wanted to get the delivery of their child done naturally. This woman's husband said in a conversation with Fox 31 that doctors had given my wife a drug to speed up labor pain.

He further added that a few minutes later he was taken for emergency C-section surgery. However, after this operation, we were all very sad to see the condition of our baby girl. A plastic surgeon had to be called immediately to seal the wound on his face.

The same girl's mother is shocked by the whole incident. She said that I am trying to understand what happened. But I never thought that a C-section could lead to such situations for a baby. I have never seen this kind of problem in babies due to C-section.

The same girl's grandfather Walter Williams said that it is very unfortunate that your granddaughter has to be seen by a plastic surgeon as soon as she is born and 13 stitches have to be done. I was deeply saddened to see my granddaughter's condition. Doctors must take responsibility in this matter.

According to advanced practice nurse Lisa Merck in this case, I have done more than 2500 deliveries and also helped with c-sections but this is the first time I am seeing anything like this. Such cuts are extremely rare in babies during a C-section.

The Child Health and Human Development Medicine Units Network has also confirmed that such cuts due to C-section surgery are very rare. The network examined 37 thousand C-section surgeries in 13 different hospitals in 1999-2000 and found that only 0.7 percent of children suffered from this problem.
