The petrol pump operators of the state are going to go on strike for 48 hours from 6 am on Sunday, March 10. During this period he will not buy or sell even a single drop of diesel-petrol. Explaining about this strike, Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association said that during the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the issue of expensive petrol and diesel in the state.

'Cheap oil in neighboring states'

An official of the association said that BJP had made this an issue at the time of elections. But after the formation of the government in December, no talk has been made in this matter till now. He said that Rajasthan borders Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Diesel-petrol is cheap in all these states, but expensive here. People in border areas are going to these states and purchasing oil. The result is that many border pumps are on the verge of closure.

No purchase no sale strike for next 48 hours from 6 am

Rajasthan Petrol Dealers Association has announced a "no purchase no sale" strike for the next 48 hours from 6 am, said Sandeep Bageria, treasurer of Rajasthan Petrol Dealers Association. Its objective is to end the strike. Government's attention on high fuel prices in the state. PM Narendra Modi had promised that the BJP government would reduce petrol prices, but nothing like this happened. 33% of the dealers in our trade association are on the verge of closure.

Need to reduce petrol prices – Association

During Covid, the government had increased VAT on petrol prices. Which have not been modified.
