PM Modi on PM SHRI Yojana: On Teachers' Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a big announcement that 14500 schools will be upgraded under PM SHRI scheme. PM Modi said that today on Teachers' Day, I am happy to announce a new initiative. Under the Pradhan Mantri School for Rising India (PM-SHRI) scheme, 14,500 schools will be developed and upgraded across India. These will become model schools which will incorporate the full spirit of the National Education Policy (NEP).

PM Modi said that PM-Shri will be a modern, transformative and holistic way of imparting education in schools. The focus will also be on modern infra including latest technology, smart classrooms, sports and more. The National Education Policy has transformed the education sector in recent years. I am sure that PM-Shri School will benefit lakhs of students across India in the spirit of NEP.

Prime Minister Modi interacted with the teachers who received the National Teacher Award on the occasion of Teachers' Day on Monday. During this, the PM said that we not only have to educate the students but also change their lives. India is moving in the right direction to strengthen its educational ecosystem.

PM Modi further said that we are grateful to the teachers for shaping the young mind. Our teachers have played a big role in formulating the National Education Policy. The PM had congratulated Teachers' Day by tweeting earlier. He tweeted and wrote, "Happy Teacher's Day, especially to all those hardworking teachers who spread the happiness of education in young minds. I also pay tribute to former President of the country Dr. Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary."
