Prime Minister Narendra Modi has personally congratulated the founders of Skyroot Aerospace, Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharat Daka, following the successful launch of the Vikram-1 rocket. In a telephonic conversation, the Prime Minister hailed the achievement as a historic moment that will Notably bolster the nation's space ambitions. He emphasized that this success is merely the beginning of a much longer and more ambitious journey for India in the global space arena.

A New Chapter in India's Space History

A significant milestone was recorded in India's space history on Saturday, July 18, when the Vikram-1 rocket, developed by Skyroot Aerospace, was successfully launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The launch took place from the first launch pad at approximately 11:30 AM. Following this landmark event, Prime Minister Modi reached out to the team to express his appreciation for their hard work and dedication, describing the mission as a major success for the country's rapidly expanding space sector.

During the call, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to Pawan Chandana, Naga Bharat Daka, and the entire Skyroot team, while he remarked that this launch represents a new milestone in India's space journey. "This success is just the beginning, and there is a long road ahead," the PM stated, while also extending an invitation to the 'Team Vikram-1' to meet him in person to discuss their achievement and future plans.

The Prime Minister also touched upon the policy shifts that enabled this success. He recalled that when the central government decided to open the space sector to private companies, many had raised questions and expressed doubts, while however, the success of Vikram-1 has vindicated that decision, proving that the private space sector is now establishing a strong identity for itself on the global stage. This mission, conducted under the name 'Mission Aagman', is seen as a historic feat for private enterprise in India.

Symbolic Payloads and Technical Analysis

The Vikram-1 rocket carried more than just technical equipment into space. It transported a micro-artwork payload and a special postcard featuring a handwritten "Vande Mataram" message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while On top of that, the rocket carried handwritten postcards from various engineers, scientists, and Indian astronauts, adding a deeply personal and symbolic dimension to the mission.

Standing at a height of approximately 7 stories, the Vikram-1 rocket's flight is being used to gather critical engineering data.
