Parliament Session: Today, the first special session of the Modi government started in the old Parliament House, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself initiated the discussion in the Lok Sabha and presented the 75-year history of the Parliament in front of the country. When he remembered his entry into Parliament for the first time, he also told the country about the major decisions of the Prime Ministers of the country including Jawahar Lal Nehru. During his address, PM Modi mentioned cash for votes, reservation and removal of Article 370. Overall, in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi narrated sweet and sour memories of the history of the Parliament.

The echo of Nehru's speech will continue to inspire - Modi

While speaking in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi remembered the 'Midnight' speech of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. PM Modi said that the echo of Pandit Nehru's speech in this very House will continue to inspire us all. Jawaharlal Nehru gave the historic speech ‘Tryst with Destiny’ in the Constituent Assembly at midnight on 14-15 August 1947. The PM said that this House also gave a tearful farewell to its three Prime Ministers Jawahar Lal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi. At that time this House was filled with tears.

Also saw emergency and cash for vote scandal - Modi

PM Modi also took a dig at the opposition in his speech. Referring to the visit to the Indian Parliament, PM Modi said that in this House we saw the liberation of Bangladesh and also saw the Emergency and then also saw the return of democracy. Taking a jibe at the previous Manmohan Singh government, he said that we also saw the 'cash for vote' scandal in the Manmohan government.

Proud to remove Article 370- Modi

In his address, PM Modi also mentioned the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi said that this House will always be proud of the removal of Section 370. He said that this Parliament also witnessed Atal Bihari Vajpayee's historic speech 'This country should remain'. He also became a witness to the Rural Ministry formed in the government of Chaudhary Charan Singh. PM Modi said that this House also saw the economic reforms and bold decisions of the Narasimha Rao government. During this, Modi also remembered the terrorist attack on the Parliament House and said that this attack was not on the building but on our soul.

While addressing the special session of the Parliament, PM Modi, while referring to his childhood, said that a child living on the railway platform reached the Parliament, this is the power of democracy. He said that when I reached Parliament for the first time, I bowed my head on the stairs. I never thought that this country would love me so much.
