Amidst the ongoing seat-sharing disputes within the NDA ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Jitan Ram Manjhi has affirmed his unwavering loyalty to Prime Minister Modi, stating he will remain with him till his last breath. He ended political speculation with the slogan 'Nitish Sang Modi Ji Ki Sarkar'.

Bihar Elections 2025: Amidst the ongoing dispute over seat distribution within the NDA ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, a significant statement has emerged from Jitan Ram Manjhi, patron of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and former Chief Minister, while he posted on social media platform X, putting an end to all political speculation. Manjhi clearly stated that he's fully with the NDA and won't leave PM Modi's side until the very end. This statement is being seen as a sign of consensus on seat sharing within the alliance.

Pledge of Loyalty to PM Modi

In his X post, Jitan Ram Manjhi wrote, “I am going to Patna now… Anyway, let me tell you one thing which I've said before and am saying again today… I, Jitan Ram Manjhi, will stand with Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi till my last breath, while prosperity will come to Bihar, there will be Nitish's government with Modi ji. ” This statement comes at a time when there was considerable tension within the NDA alliance regarding seat allocation.

Earlier Demands and Subsequent Agreement

Earlier, Jitan Ram Manjhi had met with BJP national president JP Nadda on Saturday. Following that meeting, reports suggested that Manjhi was adamant about 15 seats and was reportedly upset, while union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi had previously stated that he was “requesting, not demanding” that HAM be given a respectable number of seats, otherwise the party wouldn't be able to contest the elections. However, today's tweet clarifies that his grievances have been fully addressed, and an agreement on seat distribution has been reached. On the other hand, a senior JDU leader stated that the party might contest 103 of the 243 state assembly seats, although a formal announcement will be made by senior NDA leaders “at an appropriate time. ” According to sources, the BJP will contest 102 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. Union Minister Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), which had earlier settled for around 20-22 seats, is now demanding more. Other NDA allies – Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) – will also receive a respectable number of seats.
