Kejriwal's Rajghat Satyagraha: Kapil Mishra Says Bapu Would Have Chased You Away

Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia visited Rajghat to start a 'Satyagraha' and announced a boycott of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma's court. BJP's Kapil Mishra slammed the move as a drama by corruption accused.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia have opened a front against the judiciary by adopting the path of 'Satyagraha'. On Tuesday, Kejriwal, Sisodia, and other senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reached Rajghat to pay floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. AAP leaders stated that they will no longer appear in Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma's court, as they don't expect justice from there.

Kapil Mishra's Sharp Reaction and Criticism

' He alleged that those accused in the liquor scam are now performing a drama of Satyagraha. Commenting on the judicial system, Mishra said that nowhere in the world does an accused get to decide who their judge will be. According to him, Kejriwal knows he has committed corruption, which is why he's insulting judges to delay the investigation.

Manish Sisodia Joins Court Boycott

Following Kejriwal's lead, Manish Sisodia also wrote a letter to Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, refusing to participate in the court proceedings. Sisodia posted on 'X' (formerly Twitter), stating that this isn't a matter of an individual but a question of trust in the judicial system. He mentioned that his conscience doesn't allow him to participate in the proceedings of this court. According to Sisodia, when justice isn't seen to be done, Satyagraha is the only remaining option.

Internal Rift and Allegations of Dictatorship

Former Punjab BJP President Shwait Malik described this entire sequence of events as the beginning of the end for AAP. Malik stated that the joining of seven Rajya Sabha MPs into the BJP proves there is massive dissatisfaction within the party due to Kejriwal's dictatorship. He further alleged that Kejriwal has abandoned the ideals of Anna Hazare and embraced corruption instead.

The Core of the Dispute

The controversy stems from Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma hearing a CBI petition related to the liquor policy case, which challenges the release granted to Kejriwal. Kejriwal and Sisodia allege a 'conflict of interest' because the judge's children are reportedly on the Central Government's panel. Meanwhile, legal experts believe that boycotting the court in such a manner could fall under the category of contempt of court.

The political atmosphere in Delhi remains tense as the Aam Aadmi Party continues its protest while the BJP maintains that these actions are merely tactics to evade the ongoing investigation into the liquor policy case.
