India / PM Modi Will Not To Attend G7 Summit In Person Due To Current Covid-19 Situation

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has canceled his visit to the UK to attend the G-7 conference next month. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Tuesday, saying: "The Prime Minister of the UK appreciates the invitation extended to PM Modi by Boris Johnson to attend the G-7 conference. But, given the current status of Covid-19 It has been decided that the Prime Minister will not be present in person at the G-7 conference. "

India, Australia and South Africa were specially invited to the G-7 conference being held this year under the chairmanship of Boris Johnson in Cornwall.

It was being said that Quad leaders such as US President Joe Biden, Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga and PM Modi would meet in person in Cornwall on the sidelines of the G-7 conference.

Earlier, there was a virtual meeting between these four leaders on 12 March which was the first meeting between the leaders of the quad countries. The G-7 includes Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.
