Prime Minister Narendra Modi will talk to Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky today amid the ongoing war crisis between Russia and Ukraine. According to sources, during the talks, PM Modi will put forward issues like the safety of Indian students and averting war with Zelensky and Putin. Let us inform that earlier on 26 February also there was a conversation between Zelensky and PM Modi regarding the war crisis. Zelensky had demanded political support of India during this period. During that time the President of Ukraine had briefed the Prime Minister in detail about the ongoing conflict situation in Ukraine. The Prime Minister had expressed deep condolences on the loss of life and property due to the ongoing conflict. PM Modi reiterated his call for dialogue and an immediate end to the violence and expressed India's willingness to contribute in every way possible for peace efforts. The Prime Minister also conveyed to him (President of Ukraine) India's deep concern for the safety of Indian citizens, including students present in Ukraine. He also sought the facilitation by the Ukrainian authorities for the speedy evacuation of Indian nationals.

Even before this, PM Modi spoke to Putin

Earlier on March 2, PM Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone. The two leaders had reviewed the situation in Ukraine. During this, especially the situation of Indian students trapped in Kharkiv was also discussed. The two discussed the safe evacuation of Indian nationals from conflict zones.

India stays away from voting against Russia in UN

India's stand is clear in the midst of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. India has expressed concern over the ongoing war in Ukraine but refrained from voting against Russia in the United Nations. PM Modi asked Ukrainian President Zelensky to make any contribution towards peace efforts. Modi expressed deep anguish over the war and appealed for an immediate end to the violence.
