New Delhi / Policemen, lawyers clash at Delhi's Tis Hazari Court; police jeep set on fire

A scuffle broke out between policemen and lawyers in north Delhi's Tis Hazari Court on Saturday. As per initial reports, a lawyer was injured in the clash and a police jeep was set on fire. The lawyers accused the police of firing at them. The police have reportedly locked a few gates at the premises to prevent miscreants from entering.

A scuffle broke out between police and lawyers at north Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court on Friday afternoon and soon escalated into a full-blown clash during which a police van was set ablaze and people were injured.

The lawyers also accused the police of firing at them, but the police are yet to respond to the allegation. While the initial reports said that a parking dispute triggered the clash, there was no confirmation from the police.

The situation at the spot is tense and the police have locked a few gates to prevent miscreants from entering the premises.
