Washington: Highlighting core issue that were discussed during First Quad Leaders’ Virtual Summit with Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australian PM Scott Morrison and US President Joe Biden on March 12, USA’s National Security Advisor said that the quad has agreed to deliver up to 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses to Indo-Pacific region. He said, “With respect to COVID-19, these four leaders made a massive joint commitment.

With Indian manufacturing, US technology, Japanese and American financing and Australian logistics capability, the quad committed to deliver up to 1 billion doses to the Indo-Pacific in the end of 2022. The leaders also agreed to meet in person in the end of 2021 and they launched self-working groups, emerging technology groups that will help set standards in key technologies like 5G and Artificial Intelligence and on cyber that will help our fore countries to meet the growing threat. These groups will deliver results before the end of the year.”
